Suzie Wilks

Two shows.
One evening.

At 7.30pm, Our House. At 8.30pm, Changing Rooms. Around 40 weeks a year, for almost a decade, Suzie carried two consecutive prime-time programs on the same night, a run no other woman in Australian television had held solo.

The room reveal became national ritual.

Every week, families gathered for the moment a door opened and a room became something else. Suzie stood in the middle of that transformation, holding the nerves of the homeowners and the attention of a nation at once.

The work was live in feeling if not always in broadcast: real houses, real budgets, real people who had handed over their homes and had to live with the result.
